Snickerdoodles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
    2 large eggs
    2 3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. softened shortening (part butter)
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
Preparation
    Heat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Mix shortening, 1 1/2 cup sugar and eggs thoroughly.
    Sift together flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Stir into first mixture.
    Form dough into balls the size of walnuts.
    Mix together 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon.
    Roll balls in the sugar mixture and place about 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Makes 5 dozen.
