Onion Mushroom Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 clove garlic
    1/4 c. butter or margarine, melted
    1 (3/4 oz.) pkg. brown gravy mix
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. Burgundy or other dry red wine
    pinch of salt
    1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced
    1 c. thinly sliced green onion
Preparation
    Saute garlic in butter in a large skillet.
    Add gravy mix, water, wine and pepper; bring to a boil.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and thickened.
    Add mushrooms and green onion; cook until thoroughly heated.
    Serve hot with beef patties or steak.
