Ingredients

1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 large onions
1/2 c. milk
2 tsp. sugar (optional)
1 egg, well beaten
1 Tbsp. oil
Preparation

Remove skin from onions and slice 1/4-inch thick.
Cover with cold water.
Let stand 30 minutes.\tWipe dry.
Separate into rings.
Combine egg with milk.
Add dry ingredients.
Add oil and mix thoroughly.
Add onions to batter.
Deep-fry until brown.
