Shanghai Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large head crisp lettuce, shredded
    2 (1 lb.) cans bean sprouts, drained
    2 green peppers, coarsely chopped
    2 (5 oz.) cans water chestnuts, thinly sliced
    1/2 c. chopped toasted almonds (optional)
Preparation
    Place all ingredients, except almonds, in a large bowl.
    Just before serving, pour dressing over all and toss well.
    Sprinkle with almonds.
    Yields 15 servings.
