Mexican Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cornmeal
    2 eggs
    1 c. milk
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/4 c. bacon drippings
    3 jalapeno peppers
    1 lb. ground meat
    1 large onion
    1 can cream-style corn
    1/2 lb. shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Mix together all ingredients except onion, meat and cheese. Saute onion and meat together.
    Pour half of the cornmeal mixture into a greased, large, deep black skillet (10 1/2-inch). Alternate layers of meat and cheese.
    Top with remaining cornmeal mixture.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 50 minutes.
