Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1 diced onion
    sliced water chestnuts (small can)
    2 diced tomatoes
    1 pt. mayonnaise
    1 can small early peas
    6 boiled eggs, chopped
    1 small jar bacon bits
    grated Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Layer ingredients in a large bowl in same order as written. Refrigerate.
    Will stay crispy for 3 or 4 days.
