English Toffee Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. margarine or butter
    3/4 c. sugar (do not reduce)
    1 egg, separated
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 c. flour
    3/4 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    You will need 9 x 13-inch jelly roll pan or cookie sheet or short-sided pan with same area.
