Jewish Apple Cake - cooking recipe

2 c. sugar
4 eggs
3/4 c. oil
3 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. orange juice
1 tsp. vanilla
4 medium apples
4 tsp. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Grease and flour a 9-inch tube pan.
Slice apples.
Mix with 4 teaspoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon.
Beat eggs.
Gradually beat in sugar, then oil. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add to beaten mixture in small amounts, alternating with oil and orange juice. Pour 1/4 of batter into pan.
Arrange 1/3 of apples on top. Sprinkle with 1/3 of cinnamon mixture. Repeat layers using 1/4 of batter each time and half of the remaining apples.
Make last layer batter.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
