Puree Of Turnips And Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large or 2 medium size turnips
    6 large first-quality white potatoes, peeled and cut into large chunks
    1 medium onion, grated
    1/4 to 1/2 c. milk
    pepper
    butter
    salt
    chopped parsley
Preparation
    Boil the turnips and potatoes in water to cover until very soft; drain.
    Keep warm.
    Saute the onion in 2 tablespoons butter until softened and very lightly browned.
    Combine the onion with the turnips, potatoes and 1/4 cup milk.
    Mash until almost smooth, adding more butter and salt and pepper to taste.
    Whip until very smooth with an electric mixer, adding more milk if you desire a thinner consistency.
    Lightly butter the top.
    Sprinkle with parsley.
