Golden Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. whole wheat flour
    1 c. unbleached flour
    2 tsp. ground ginger
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. margarine, softened
    3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/4 c. applesauce
    3 egg whites
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. golden raisins (optional)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Spray 9 x 9-inch baking pan with vegetable cooking spray.
    In small bowl, combine flours and next 5 ingredients.
    In large bowl, with mixer at high speed, beat margarine, sugar and applesauce until smooth.
    Add egg whites and buttermilk; beat well.
    Turn mixer to low speed and beat in flour mixture.
    (Fold in raisins if using.)
    Pour into pan.
    Bake about 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
