Gator Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground gator meat
    1 pkg. dry vegetable soup/dip mix
    3 c. complete pancake mix
    3/4 c. cornmeal
    1 large egg
    8 oz. shredded Monterey Jack cheese
    1 1/4 c. water
    1 Tbsp. margarine
    1 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Mix together the dry ingredients; add water, egg and cheese. Saute the ground gator in 1 tablespoon of margarine until the meat just turns white.
    Drain and then add to mixture.
    Stir by hand until all ingredients are distributed evenly.
    Drop 1/2 teaspoon of mix into 375\u00b0 oil and deep-fry until golden brown, turning once.
    Drain on paper towels.
    Serve with prepared honey-mustard dressing.
    Makes approximately 250 (1 1/2-inch), in diameter.
    Can substitute crab or fish.
