Herbed New York Strip Steak - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 3/4 to 2 lb. New York strip steaks, cut 3-inches thick
1 tsp. dried thyme
1 tsp. dried oregano
1 tsp. dried rosemary
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/4 tsp. ground red pepper
1 Tbsp. olive oil
Preparation

Trim excess fat from steak.
Combine thyme and the next
5 herbs and seasonings.
Mix well, mashing with back of spoon to bring out the flavor of the herbs.
Pat mixture on both sides of the steak.
Let set 10 minutes in refrigerator.
Heat olive oil in iron skillet.
Add chilled steak.
Cook 3 minutes on each side. Cover skillet with aluminum foil and bake in 450\u00b0 oven for 20 to 30 minutes, according to your desired degree of doneness.
Let stand 15 minutes before slicing into thin slices.
Yield: 6 servings.
Great for sandwiches also.
