Barbecue Ribs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. beef or pork ribs
    garlic salt and pepper to taste
    2 Tbsp. Crisco or oil
    1 large sliced or chopped onion
    3/4 c. cider vinegar
    1 tsp. salt
    several whole peppercorns
    barbecue sauce
Preparation
    Trim excess fat from approximately 7 pounds of beef or pork ribs; sprinkle with garlic salt and pepper to taste.
    Add Crisco or oil to large pot and brown ribs.
    Add enough water to cover meat and onion, vinegar, salt and whole peppercorns.
    Bring to a boil; cover and simmer 1 hour.
    Drain water and place ribs on hot outdoor grill.
    Baste with barbecue sauce and cook until desired crispiness.
