Date Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs
    1 c. confectioners sugar
    1 Tbsp. shortening, melted
    1/4 c. sifted flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. chopped dates
    3/4 c. nuts, chopped
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Beat eggs until light.
    Add sugar and shortening. Blend well. Sift dry ingredients together. Add dates, nuts and vanilla.
    Blend well. Pour into greased shallow cake pan.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 about 25 minutes. Cut into bars. Roll in confectioners sugar.
    Makes about 24.
