Old-Fashioned Stew For Two - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 lb. beef round steak, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
1 large (8 oz.) potato, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
1 carrot, cut into 3/4-inch pieces
1 rib celery, sliced diagonally into 3/4-inch pieces
1/2 c. coarsely chopped onion
3/4 c. water
1 tsp. browning sauce (such as Kitchen Bouquet)
1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
salt and pepper to taste
1 bay leaf
Preparation

Place meat cubes in bottom of 1 1/2-quart casserole.
Add potato, carrot, celery and onion.
Combine water, browning sauce, flour, salt and pepper.
Pour over ingredients in casserole.
Tuck bay leaf into liquid.
Cover with lid or vented plastic wrap, stirring midway through cooking.
Microwave on High 5 minutes. Microwave on Medium-low (30%) 25 to 30 minutes . Stir and let set 5 minutes.
Remove bay leaf.
Makes 2 servings.
Recipe may be doubled.
Use 3-quart casserole.
Double ingredients.
