Coconut Cream Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. cornstarch (more if needed)
4 eggs, separated
1/2 stick margarine, melted
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
16 oz. pkg. fresh frozen coconut
4 egg whites, room temperature
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
8 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation

Mix all but the last 3 ingredients and blend well.
Pour into 9-inch baked pie shell.
Beat egg whites and cream of tartar in a small mixing bowl until foamy.
Gradually add 8 tablespoons sugar, beat until stiff peaks form.
Spread meringue onto hot pie filling, carefully sealing meringue to edge of crust.
Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven about 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool to room temperature.
