Oven Baked Pea And Lentil Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. split peas
    1/2 c. lentils
    5 c. chicken broth
    3/4 c. sliced carrot
    3/4 c. sliced celery
    1 medium onion, sliced
    3 bay leaves
    1/2 to 3/4 tsp. ground cumin
    1/4 to 1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Place all ingredients in an ovenproof Dutch oven.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, covered, until peas and lentils are tender.
    Mix and serve.
    Top each bowl with shredded Cheddar cheese and bacon bits.
