Crunchy Fried Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 firm ripe or green medium tomatoes
    1 egg, beaten
    1 c. dry bread crumbs
    1/3 c. butter or margarine
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Cut tomatoes into 3/4-inch slices.
    Dip into egg and then into crumbs.
    Melt butter in large skillet.
    Add tomato slices and cook until golden brown on each side.
    Season to taste with salt and pepper.
    Makes 4 servings.
