Butter Roll - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. plain flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/3 c. lard
1 c. milk
Preparation

Mix all together with fingertips. Knead until smooth. On a biscuit board, roll out 1/4-inch thick. Spread with 3/4 cup soft fresh churned butter. Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups sugar on top. Roll up jelly roll fashion. Cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces. Stand in a large pudding pan. Slowly pour enough boiling water over the rolls to cover. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon vanilla or use nutmeg. Bake at 350\u00b0 until brown, about 1 hour. Serve with whipped cream.
