Oatmeal Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. lukewarm milk, water or potato water
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 Tbsp. salt
2 Tbsp. soft shortening
1 cake compressed yeast, crumbled or 1 envelope dry yeast
2 c. rolled oats
5 to 5 1/2 c. sifted flour
Preparation

Mix first 4 ingredients.
Add yeast; stir in rolled oats.
Mix in flour.
Toss out onto floured board.
Let stand 10 minutes. Knead.
Put in bowl to rise.
Punch down when doubled.
Knead. Divide in half.
Form into 2 loaves.
When risen to double, bake about 1 hour at 400\u00b0.
