Christmas Salad(Good Anytime Of The Year.) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 (3 oz.) pkg. lime gelatin
    3/4 c. boiling water
    1/2 lb. miniature marshmallows
    1 c. pecans (optional)
    1 pt. crushed pineapple, drained
    1 lb. cottage cheese
    10 maraschino cherries, diced
    1/2 pt. whipping cream
Preparation
    Put gelatin and marshmallows into a mixing bowl. Add boiling water and stir until marshmallows are partially melted.
    Add pineapple, then mix and place in refrigerator until slightly jelled.
    Remove from refrigerator and add nuts (if desired), cottage cheese and cherries.
    Mix together well and fold in whipping cream that has been beaten stiff. Return to refrigerator to jell. Serve on lettuce leaves or serve alone.
