Ingredients

1 medium onion, grated
1 egg
1/4 tsp. pepper
4 Tbsp. flour
1 Tbsp. salt
6 large white potatoes
Preparation

Mix onion, egg, flour, salt and pepper in large bowl.
Peel and grate potatoes into onion mixture.
Mix well; pour oil to cover bottom of large skillet.
Heat skillet, drop potato mixture by large spoonfuls into hot oil.
Fry until golden brown.
Turn and brown other side.
Serve hot with sour cream or applesauce. Makes about 15 or 16 potato pancakes.
