Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. bacon
    3 (6.5 oz.) cans minced or chopped clams
    10 to 12 diced potatoes
    1 large chopped onion
    1 pt. to 1 qt. half and half
    butter
    salt
    pepper
Preparation
    In thick-bottomed pan, fry cut-up bacon and pour off grease. Add clams, potatoes and onion.
    Cook until potatoes are soft.
    Add half and half and cook until thick over medium to medium-high heat.
    Stir frequently.
    Season to taste with butter, salt and pepper.
