Verna'S Pirate'S Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 onion, chopped
    1/2 green pepper
    1 c. canned tomatoes
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. canned kidney beans, drained
    1/4 c. chopped pimento
    1 (12 oz.) pkg. corn muffin mix
Preparation
    Saute meat, onion and green pepper in 1 tablespoon oil.
    Add tomatoes and salt.
    Cover and simmer over low heat 15 minutes. Stir in kidney beans and pimento.
    Pour mixture into 2-quart baking dish.
    Follow directions for dumplings on muffin mix. Spoon dumplings close together around edge of casserole to form a solid border.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes.
