Old Time Jam Cake(Mrs. Sam Wise, Smithfield, Kentucky) - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
4 eggs, beat whites and yellows separately
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. Hershey's cocoa
1 c. blackberry jam
1 c. raisins
3 c. flour
1 c. buttermilk

Preparation

Cream butter and sugar; add beaten egg yolks.
Sift flour, cocoa and spices together.
Add soda to buttermilk.
Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk to mixture and mix well. Add jam, raisins and beaten egg whites.
Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven.
