Chocolate - Caramel - Nut Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk chocolate chips
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    30 vanilla caramels
    3 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. water
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. pecan pieces
Preparation
    Melt over hot water the chocolate chips and shortening.
    Stir until melted and smooth.
    Pour half into an 8-inch foil lined square pan.
    Refrigerate until firm (15 minutes). Return remaining to low heat.
    Combine over hot water the caramels, butter and water. Stir until caramels are melted and mixture is smooth. Stir in nuts.
    Pour over cooled chocolate.
    Spread and refrigerate 15 minutes. Top with remaining chocolate.
    Refrigerate 1 hour.
    Cut in squares.
