Ingredients

1/2 c. butter, softened
1 medium egg or 2 small yolks
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream together butter and sugar. Blend in egg and add vanilla to mixture. In separate bowl, mix together flour, salt and baking powder, then add to butter mixture. Take 1/3 of dough and roll out to about 1/2-inch in thickness and cut with cookie cutters. Bake on lightly greased cookie sheet at 400\u00b0 for 6 to 8 minutes. Glaze cookies using 1/4 cup powdered sugar and 3 to 4 teaspoons water. You can also add cream cheese and a dash of almond extract to glaze for better flavor.
