Broccoli Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. chopped onion
    1/4 c. margarine
    1/3 c. flour
    1 c. water
    1 Tbsp. instant chicken bouillon
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 (10 oz.) frozen chopped broccoli
    1 c. milk
    1 c. half and half
    8 oz. American cheese, cubed
Preparation
    Saute onion in margarine in saucepan for 5 minutes.
    Stir in flour.
    Add water, bouillon, garlic powder and pepper.
    Bring to a boil; reduce heat.
    Add broccoli and milk.
    Simmer for 10 minutes or until broccoli is tender.
    Stir in half and half and cheese. Simmer until cheese is melted, stirring constantly.
    Serve hot. Yield:
    8 servings.
    Can also use no-fat milk and cheese.
