Crusty Corn Dogs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    flour
    1/4 c. cornmeal
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 egg
    1 lb. wieners
    oil for deep frying
Preparation
    Mix 1/2 cup flour, cornmeal, salt and soda.
    Beat together buttermilk and egg, then stir into flour mixture until smooth. Cut wieners in half crosswise and roll in flour to coat.
    Dip in cornmeal batter to coat.
    Fry in about 2 inches hot oil (370\u00b0 on deep-fat thermometer), 2 to 3 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
    Serve hot with mustard.
    Makes 5 servings.
