Heavenly Bean Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can string beans, drained
    1 can kidney beans, washed and drained
    1 c. green pepper, chopped
    1 medium white onion, sliced very thin
    1 can water chestnuts, drained
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. vegetable oil
    1 can wax beans, drained
    1 small can pimento
    1 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Mix sugar, vinegar, salt, pepper and vegetable oil.
    Heat, but do not boil.
    Combine beans and other ingredients; toss together. Pour oil mixture over bean mixture.
    Cover tightly; let set for 24 hours.
    This salad will keep for weeks, refrigerated.
    The longer it marinates, the better the flavor.
    Serves approximately 12 to 16.
