Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    sprinkle of salt
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. pecan halves
Preparation
    Mix and cook over medium heat.
    When it boils down, drop a few drops in cool water.
    When a soft ball is formed, remove from heat.
    Add vanilla and pecan halves.
    Drop by tablespoon onto waxed paper; cool.
