Jim'S Sweet Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large sweet potatoes
    1/2 stick butter
    1/2 c. maple syrup
    brown sugar (about 2 c.)
    2 apples (1 in mixture and 1 for topping)
    raisins
    pecans, chopped
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. grated nutmeg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 c. dark rum
Preparation
    Peel, slice and boil the sweet potatoes until done.
    Whip with the butter, then add the maple syrup and stir until blended.
    Add brown sugar.
    Stir in the spices, vanilla and rum.
    Chop one apple and cook in butter until soft.
    Add raisins and cook for another minute.
    Stir into the sweet potato mixture and add chopped pecans.
