Turnips - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. turnips
    4 strips lean bacon
    1 c. bread crumbs
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. turnip stock
    1 1/2 c. chopped celery
    1/2 c. green pepper, chopped
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. paprika
Preparation
    Peel, wash, quarter and cook turnips until tender.
    Saute in butter or margarine the celery and green pepper.
    Add this mixture to cooked turnips with turnip stock and salt.
    Pour mixture in a well-greased casserole dish.
    Sprinkle bread crumbs and paprika on top.
    Place strips of bacon on top of bread crumbs.
    Bake in oven at 325\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
    Makes 12 servings.
