Raisin Crisscross Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 cup shortening (part butter or margarine)
    3/4 cup sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. lemon extract
    1 3/4 cup flour
    3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    3/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 cup raisins
Preparation
    Mix thoroughly shortening, sugar, egg, and extract. Blend flour, cream of tartar, soda, and salt. Stir into shortening mixture. Mix in raisins. Roll into 1-inch balls. Place 3-inch apart on ungreased baking sheet. Flatten with fork, making crisscross pattern. Bake at 400\u00b0 for 8-10 minutes till edges begin to brown. Makes 3 dozen.
