Peach Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. water
    3 c. chopped peaches
    2 c. flour
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    5 Tbsp. shortening
    1/2 c. milk
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Boil sugar and water for 5 minutes.
    Pour into 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Mix all dry ingredients.
    Add milk, shortening and egg.
    Mix thoroughly to form soft dough.
    Turn onto lightly floured board and knead lightly.
