Featherbed Eggs(Makes 4 Servings) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 slices bread, buttered
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 1/2 c. grated sharp Cheddar, Gouda, Provolone, Monterey Jack or any other melting cheese
    1 1/2 c. milk
    6 eggs, beaten slightly
Preparation
    Can be prepared the day before or 6 hours before baking. Arrange bread slices in a single layer in shallow buttered baking dish.
    Sprinkle with salt, pepper and grated cheese.
    Combine milk and eggs, then pour over bread and cheese.
    Cover and refrigerate at least 6 hours or overnight.
    Remove dish from refrigerator.
    Set oven at 350\u00b0.
    Place dish into cold oven.
    Bake for 1 hour or until bread custard is puffy and lightly golden.
