2 c. brown sugar
2 c. hot water
1 lump butter (2 Tbsp.)
1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. melted butter
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. chopped dates
2 tsp. baking powder
flour
Preparation

Combine brown sugar, hot water and 2 tablespoons butter.
Boil for 10 minutes.
Mix remaining ingredients, adding just enough flour to batter to drop from a spoon.
Put syrup in baking pan. Drop batter on syrup evenly.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 350\u00b0.
