Football Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. stew beef, cut into small pieces
    1 medium onion, diced
    5 carrots, sliced
    5 potatoes, sliced
    1 c. chopped celery (optional)
    salt and pepper to taste
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 (12 oz.) cans V-8 juice
Preparation
    Put stew meat in bottom of casserole dish.
    Layer onion, carrots, potatoes and celery.
    Add salt and pepper.
    Sprinkle with sugar and cornstarch.
    Pour V-8 juice on top.
    Cover and bake 3 1/2 hours at 300\u00b0.
