Ingredients

1 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. molasses
5 c. flour (approximately)
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. cold water
Preparation

Mix all ingredients.
Roll out and cut.
For soft cookies, use 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup shortening, instead of 1 cup butter and roll thick.
