Christmas Stollen(Weihnachts-Oder Sachrischer) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

8 c. flour, sifted
1 1/2 c. milk (lukewarm)
2 yeast cakes
1 Tbsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1 c. lard
1 1/4 c. raisins
1 1/2 c. almonds, grated
orange peel, chopped
confectioners sugar and cream
Preparation

Prepare a firm dough of flour, milk, yeast, salt, sugar and lard.
Work until in blisters.
Knead in raisins, grated almonds and orange peel.
Cover dough and let rise to double in size. Sprinkle bread board with flour and roll dough out.
Make into loaves.
Brush with melted lard or butter.
Let rise until double in size.
Bake in 375\u00b0 oven until bread leaves sides of pan, about 45 to 60 minutes.
Leave in oven for 10 minutes after turning off.
