Oatmeal Caramelitas - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    32 caramels
    5 Tbsp. evaporated milk
    1 c. flour
    1 c. oatmeal
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. melted butter
    1 c. chocolate chips
    1/2 c. chopped pecans (optional)
Preparation
    Melt caramels in milk.
    Cool slightly.
    Combine all ingredients except chocolate chips and pecans in a large bowl. Press half of crumbs into bottom of an 11 x 7-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
    Remove from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips and pecans.
    Top with caramel mixture and sprinkle with remaining crumbs.
    Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Chill 1 to 2 hours.
    Cut into bars.
