Rum Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/3 c. unsalted margarine
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1/4 c. rum
    3 egg whites
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour (unsifted)
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. skim milk
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. unsalted margarine
    1/4 c. rum
Preparation
    Grease 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan with a small amount of unsalted margarine; sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar.
    Spread chopped pecans in the bottom of the pan.
    Set aside.
