Chicken Casserole With Asparagus - cooking recipe

1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. onion, chopped
1 (3 oz.) can chow mein noodles
1 c. cheese, grated
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. curry powder
1 can evaporated milk
1 c. chicken, cooked and diced
1/4 c. flour
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen cut asparagus
dash of pepper
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Drain the mushrooms and reserve liquid. Melt the butter in a large frypan.
Add the mushrooms and onion and cook over medium heat until onion is transparent.
Remove from heat.
Add the flour, salt, pepper and curry powder and stir until blended.
Add enough water to reserved mushroom liquid to make 1/2 cup liquid and add to mushroom mixture, slowly stirring constantly. Blend in milk and cook over medium heat, stirring until thickened. Add chicken and noodles.
Cook the asparagus according to package directions and drain.
Add to chicken mixture and mix.
Turn into a greased 1 1/2-quart casserole and top with cheese.
Bake for 20 to 30 minutes or until heated through and cheese is melted.
