Wassail - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lemons, peeled and juiced
    3 oranges, peeled and juiced
    6 c. water
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1-2 sticks cinnamon
    1 tbsp. whole allspice
    rinds of oranges and lemons
    1 gallon of apple cider
Preparation
    Combine the lemon and orange juices and set aside.
    In a saucepan heat the water and sugar until sugar dissolves, add cinnamon, allspice and the rinds.
    Simmer for 1 hour.
    Refrigerate until ready to serve.
    Heat until hot but not boiling.
    Serve with individual sticks of cinnamon.
