Ingredients

1 stick butter or oleo
1 c. sugar
1 c. chopped dates
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. Rice Krispies
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1/2 c. coconut (optional)
Preparation

Combine butter, sugar and dates in a skillet.
Cook over low heat for 5 minutes.
Stir in beaten egg and vanilla.
Allow to cool for a few minutes.
Add Rice Krispies, nuts and coconut. When cool enough to handle, roll into balls and roll in powdered sugar.
Makes about 60 walnut-sized balls.
