Sweet-Sour Pot Roast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. solid shortening
    4 lb. chuck or rump beef roast
    2 onions, sliced
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. ground cloves
    1/4 c. honey
    1/4 c. granulated sugar
    juice of 2 lemons
    1 tsp. salt or to taste
Preparation
    Heat shortening in Dutch oven or heavy skillet with tight-fitting lid. Add meat and onions; brown, turning frequently. Add pepper, cloves, honey, sugar, lemon juice and salt. Cover tightly. Simmer slowly over low heat or bake in 300\u00b0 oven 3 to 3 1/2 hours until meat is tender.
