Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 c. white corn meal
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. milk
1 egg, beaten
1 small onion, finely chopped

Preparation

Combine corn meal, flour, baking powder and salt.
Add milk, egg and onion.
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls into deep hot oil (375\u00b0), frying only a few at a time, until golden brown.
Drain on absorbent paper.
Makes about 2 dozen.
