Deer Jerky - cooking recipe
Ingredients
-
4 lb. deer meat (roast or steak)
10 oz. Allegro marinade
seasoning: such as, Lawry's season salt (I use Lawry's jerky seasoning, it's hot)
Preparation
-
Cut deer meat into 1/4-inch strips or smaller.
Put the strips in a large pan or use a 1 gallon Ziploc baggie.
The baggie is less messy.
Pour the Allegro marinade over the strips and let it set overnight in the refrigerator.
Place all the deer strips in the dehydrator (don't overlap the strips).
Next you sprinkle on your seasonings according to your own taste.
Turn the dehydrator setting to 140\u00b0 and let it cook for 12 hours.
It's good to experiment with different types of seasoning until you hit on the right one for you.
