Pumpkin Cookies - cooking recipe

1 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 lb. can pumpkin
2 3/4 c. flour, sifted
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ginger
1 c. raisins
1 c. pecans, chopped
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
Mix sugar, shortening, eggs and pumpkin thoroughly in a large bowl.
Sift dry ingredients and add to pumpkin mixture.
Blend well.
Add raisins and pecans.
Drop batter by tablespoonfuls on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
