German Nut Cake - cooking recipe

3 c. flour, sifted
3 tsp. baking powder
4 eggs, separated
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. cold water
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. walnuts, chopped
1 banana, mashed
Preparation

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon; set aside.
Cream shortening and sugar well.
Add egg yolks, one at a time.
Add flour mixture and water alternately with nuts.
Add vanilla.
Beat egg whites until stiff, then fold into the batter. Pour into a greased 10-inch tube pan.
Bake for 1/2 hour at 350\u00b0, then bake for 1/2 hour at 375\u00b0.
